Adia's Corner

Adia was created to fill a void in comics I feel has not been addressed. I will give updates on the progress and happenings for Adia. I will also give information, from trial and error that I go through, upon which to make your own comic. Trying to make a place for yourself in the comic business is a process, not an overnight success but a practice of diligence.

Comic Will Not Be Posted By Sept. 14th

Looks like I will not be able to have a comic up by September 14th as I first thought. I'm disappointed by this because there has been a slight delay. The weird part is I'll be close to done on the 14th, just not enough to post the comic though. I'll keep you posted.

How to Keep a Comic Current

I can't lie, keeping a comic up to date is probably one the most difficult tasks as a freelance comic artist. You can clearly see what I'm going through. When you have either a job, relationship, children, bills, difficult people in your life, club associations, family matters, work out routine...you see where I'm going with this? Now, I'm not saying to use this as an excuse, far from it. I just want to point out the hurdles you will have to face to keep your comic going.

My solution is preproduction. Meaning, set up all your short stories up first, then figure out how many panels will be needed for each individual story. Write in all the dialogue from the characters of your story within the panels you have made to estimate the placement of each character of where they talk within each panel. Hopefully you already have [several] stories made up so you can have a lot of preproduction panels to do for each individual comic. Next, quickly sketch out the background, characters, special effect drawings as needed in whatever order you prefer. Now all you have to do is ink the comic out and color it with a computer or use traditional media.

Remember, you should have [several] comics already set up BEFORE you start inking! All you have to do is make the time and you're up and running.

You might fall off from time to time but above all else: NEVER GIVE UP! KEEP GOING!

Four Month Hiatus

The comic was updated a couple of weeks ago and I'm glad to be off and running again. Unfortunately there is still some bumps in the road ahead. I will update the comic during the week instead of Sunday to get my rhythm back. I had the hiatus due to a family matter. My apologies for anyone who followed the comic and wondered what was happening. I will now start with the blog posts which will inform you of any situation that occurs with the comic. There might be lapses at times with updates but Adia is NOT going anywhere!
